| If I am submitting requests for a professor, how should I register? |
If you are making requests for a professor, the requests should be submitted in the professor's name. This means if you are submitting the professor's requests, you will first need to register with ILLiad in his or her name. If the professor is already registered with ILLiad, you will need to know his/her username and password. The professor must establish Proxy Privileges for you by contacting the staff at any University Libraries' Circulation Desks with the following information:
This will link your record with the professor's record in the University Libraries patron database. Note: If you are also doing your own research, then you should also register yourself in ILLiad. However, only submit requests under your name for materials needed for your own research. |
| What Web browser should I use? |
| Use a Web browser that can handle forms, tables, and frames. Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 or greater is acceptable and is used the the public areas of the University Libraries. FireFox is also acceptable. |
| Is security a problem if I use a public workstation? |
No. When you log off the public workstation, cached information is purged. If you are still corned about the security of your interlibrary loan requests, we suggest that you access ILLiad from your personal computer only. |
| Why don't I see all my older requests when I look at my request history? |
| From time to time we purge older records from ILLiad. Our policy is to keep requests online for several years order to comply with record keeping requirements of the copyright law. |
